GARAPA
Overview
Garapa is a durable, well performing alternative to Ipe. A more affordable option to Ipe, it is often selected by architects, builders and homeowners for it’s attractive and naturally rich honey-golden color. resistant to attack by decay, insects and fungi
This wood species is not listed in the CITES Appendices or on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. However, our Garapa comes from a certified Green By Nature supplier, meaning our Ipe material isn’t contributing to black market wood poaching.
Regular cleaning, brightening and refinishing with exotic hardwood oil to maintain or restore it’s natural color. Wood left untreated will natural oxidize and go grey, also known as “weathering out”.
